The "glass ceiling" is a metaphor for the invisible barriers that prevent women and marginalized groups from advancing to top-level positions in organizations, despite qualifications and achievements. This concept underscores persistent inequalities in the workplace that prevent women from reaching positions of power and theequalitarchive

Globally, women hold only 27% of managerial positions, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO). In the U.S., only 8% of Fortune 500 companies are led by women CEOs, reflecting a significant gender gap in leadership.
Women in the U.S. earn about 82 cents for every dollar earned by men, and the gap widens in higher-level positions, with women executives earning about 85% of what their male counterparts earn.


Only 19.7% of board seats worldwide are held by women, according to a Deloitte study. In some industries, such as finance and technology, this number is even lower
